How to use Launch Sign Out and Sign In

RacingRulesOfSailing.org provides an electronic launch sign-out/sign-in for your event. Launch sign-out is based the competitor list. Once a launch date has been indicated, and becomes active, a competitor can directly sign-out on the public Launch Sign-Out/In page of RacingRulesOfSailing. Officials can track launch sign-out/sign-in on the Event Panel.

Enable Launch Sign-Out/Sign-In by selecting the Setting when you set up the Event.

  1. Select the launch date. Create at least one entry for each day of the regatta.
  2. Describe the location (eg; Ramp, Beach, Hoist, etc.). You should create a different entry for each location. Competitors will be able to choose the location from which they depart, which can be different than where they return.
  3. Set the status. Draft is not visible to the competitor. Pending is visible but won't allow the competitor to sign-out. Active allows the competitor to sign-out/in. Inactive is visible but disabled.
  4. If you want the launch date to be set from Pending to Active automatically, set the Start time (military) at which you want it to become active on the launch date.
  5. Select how a violation of the sign-out policy occurs (should be from the sailing instructions). None means it will be discretionary. At Protest Time Limit means it is a violation not to sign-in by the PTL. Or At Set Time.
  6. If you chose At Set Time for the violation, set the time in the End field.

Officials can export the sign-out/sign in sheet from the launch page. Select Export at the top of the page to get the complete list for all days. Or select Export Daily on any launch date to get the complete list (all locations) for just that date.
