How to Create an Account on RRS.org

Who Should Sign Up

You do not need an account to browse the Racing Rules of Sailing or to file a hearing request at an event. However, signing up gives you access to additional features depending on your role:

  • Official — select this if you are a race officer, judge, measurer, or technical committee member. Officials can create and manage events, write protest decisions, and access the full jury management toolbox. Your certifications and profile information are shared with other officials in the jury management system, so please keep them accurate and current.
  • Competitor — select this if you want to file hearing requests electronically and track them on your account. Competitors can also access all the rules features on the site.
  • Other — select this if you want access to the rules content without jury management features.

Registering With Your Email

Click Sign Up on the home page and select your account type. Enter your email address and choose a password, then submit the form. You will receive a confirmation email from admin@racingrulesofsailing.org — check your spam folder if it does not arrive in your inbox within a few minutes. Click the Confirm my account link in that email to activate your account.

After confirming, sign in with your email and password. You will be prompted to complete your profile — please provide as much information as possible, particularly your name, MNA, and contact details. Officials should also select all applicable certifications from their profile page.

Signing In With Google

Instead of creating a separate password, you can sign in using your Google account. Click the Google button on the sign-in or sign-up page and authorize RRS.org to use your Google identity. You must have an existing Google account to use this option. Your RRS.org account will be linked to that Google login going forward.

Two-Factor Authentication for Officials

Officials are encouraged to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on their account for additional security. When 2FA is active, you will be sent a verification code by SMS or email each time you sign in. You can enable 2FA from your account settings after signing in. Officials who manage events or write decisions are particularly encouraged to secure their accounts this way.

After Signing In

Once signed in and your profile is complete, the top navigation menu expands to show all available features. You can switch between rule editions (fleet, match, team, kiteboard, windfoil) using the version selector. The Toolbox menu provides access to events, protests, officials, documents, and other tools based on your account type. Administrators will also see an Admin menu item for site management.
