Crew Substitutions

What Crew Substitutions Does

The Crew Substitutions feature provides an electronic workflow for competitors to submit crew substitution requests and for race officials to respond. Submissions and responses are tracked with a numbered log, notifications are sent automatically to the competitor and the race committee, and the full list is available on a public display page.

Enabling and Submitting

Enable Crew Substitutions by editing your event and selecting Crew Substitutions in Event Settings. Once enabled, a Crew Substitutions link appears in the Actions menu on the public event pages. Competitors do not need to be signed in to submit a request. They fill in their boat information, the name of the crew member being substituted, the replacement crew member, the reason for the substitution, and any supporting details. An email confirmation is sent to the competitor and the race committee is notified.

Reviewing and Responding

Officials access all crew substitution requests from the Crew Substitutions page in the Event Panel. Each request shows the full submission details and its current status. To respond, open the request and enter the official response — approved, denied, or conditional — along with any notes. The competitor is notified immediately by email and SMS when a response is submitted. The response and the full request history are visible on the public display page.
