Hi,
Can you help on how the system works in accepting registrations, payments etc in the System?
Though there is a provision to set up the registrations in the New Event Section, however, after setting up the details, no public links are visible to enable online registration and payment.

We are using the registration system in a limited number of events.  One requirement is that you set up a Stripe account.  Once you link your Stripe account to the registration in Registration Settings, your registration will be visible to users.

I can't find how to become an event host. I work at Community Boating Inc. in Boston, and we host lots of small events. For a couple of years, we have been looking for a great platform for hosting events including registration (payment through stripe), document hosting, scoring, and of course protests. Is this a good place for that yet? Thanks for helping me understand. Love this site so far the little I've used it.

In order to be able to create an event on RRoS, you need to indicate that you are an official when signing up.  You can change your role by clicking on your email in the upper right menu and then Profile. Once you have the proper role, select Toolbox on the top menu, then My Events. You can create an event there.

RRoS provides registration (Alpha testing), document hosting and management of scoring inquiries, protests, equipment and crew substitutions, and most other on shore regatta support.  However, it does not provide scoring, but you can link to your scoring software.  We recommend sailwave.

Is there a location for comments, reviews, experiences etc. of the registration system. Any use by youth events? Might be a good idea to add Regatta Organizing Authority to the list of officials.

There is already an option to add Organizing Authority as a role to an event.

Peter, thank you for your response. My point is that as an Organizing Authority there is no way to create an event as Organizing Authority as it is not a recognized official:-

Do I need to misrepresent myself as an "official" in order to setup a regatta? NB I do realize that there is an upcoming Sail Canada seminar, however it's not clear if this will also address the event management system including regatta registration as it seems to be restricted to "race officials". Yes the regattas that I am chairing have a PRO various & sundry race officials plus a Chief Judge but I don't believe that evaluating/setting up regatta registration should be their responsibility.
Respectfully,

Sorry I misunderstood your question.  I just removed my certification from my profile and the system still allowed me to create a new event.  Have you tried to sign up as a race official without providing a certification?  Most of the time, as per RRS 89.2(c), the Organizing Authority appoints the race committee.   I would consider the OA to be part of the "race officials".     I agree that the OA should be able to setup the event page and registration system.
