I figure I am technically challenged as I have been trying to teach some Judges who have never used the system and I cannot figure it out myself
1. a protest has been filed electronically and shows up in the protest list.
2. I click on hearing decisions on the left and the screen comes up with the filed protests.
3 I then click on Create a decision and a new protests pops up and I cannot figure out how to have the protest already filed electronically to populate the protest part of the form  What am I missing here

Consider the Hearing Request as the front of the form and the Decision as the Back.  When someone submits a Hearing Request, you will see an entry for the request in the Hearing Decisions.  Click on that protest and you'll see the back of the form.  Creating a Hearing Request also creates a Hearing Decision, so you don't need to create another.  You only need to create a Decision if the Hearing Request (Protest) was submitted from outside the application.

You should click on edit (the pencil) on the right side of the screen.

If a hard copy protest form is utilized (particularly for youth competitors that may not have access to electronic devices by parental discretion), what is the regatta management procedure to attach a .jpg image a protest form, diagram, or boat model explanation? I have utilized the protest decision component of regatta management by transcription the protest incident description although would find it more transparent to attache an image of the original protest filing. Chatting among judges at an event where using regatta management primarily for OTW penalties, we would find a "protest kiosk" adjacent to the protest desk to facilitate protest entry for competitors with limited internet tools.

You are able to attach an image or scan of the original protest to the Hearing Decision.  On the Hearing Tab, you can add it as a document at the top.  Just indicate it is the Protest Form in the description of the document and it will appear on the list of hearing decisions.

I believe you used to have an option to take a picture and include the image using a smart phone but now that does not appear to be an option. My last event I put the boats and marks on the table took a picture with my phone. Emailed it to myself and then saved it on my desktop. On the protest form or decision page where you can attach an image I dragged the image from the desktop to the textbox  and the image appears in the box and can be modified in that box. I have also had the jury secretary take the paper form and transfer it to the electronic form so the finished product is readable

You are right.  I switched out the editor, which solved some problems but has created others.  I'm going to add a button on the hearing request form to attach a copy of the protest form.  Unlike other documents, it will also be printed on the hearing request.  Look for that in the next day or so.

There is now an Attachments section at the bottom of the Hearing Request form.  You can attach anything you like there.  If you add an image, it will appear on the PDF of the request.  If you add a PDF, it will appear as a link on the website.
