A big thank you to Team Holland 1+2 that informed me that the information on who exactly was required for the briefing tomorrow morning at 10:40. I used the word 'Coach' in the title of the briefing to mean our Class Coach Christoffel, but this was not intended to mean only team coaches are requested to attend. The 10:40 briefing is also for sailors. Once the first part of the briefing has concluded, the sailors will be asked to leave the room and the coaches will stay for a further short technical briefing before all teams head to the water. I am sorry for causing confusion and look forward to seeing you all tomorrow morning. Sleep well everyone and thanks for all being so very passionate and positive today...I enjoyed each and every chat / discussion with you. Meeting like-minded people like you is a great part of what I love about my job. I feel very proud to be here and to get the chance to build something that has a real and tangible impact on the sport that we all love so much. Onwards and upwards!

The room allocation for the Coach Briefing session tomorrow morning has changed. This session will now be held in the main part of the ballroom which is still located on the left side of the Event Management corridor and still at 10:40 AM. The room does not have a sign on it but the door will be open.

Dear All, This is a message for any teams with sailors requiring assistance in the form of a hoist / lift to get in and out of the RS Venture Connect boats. There will be a team of Oman Sail appointed staff on the pontoons from tomorrow and for the duration of the event who will have responsibility for the use of the hydraulic ram on the 3x hoists that have been installed on the pontoons. It would be great for the overall process if the physical 'handling' of the sailors needing use of the hoist could be aided by the team support personnel (Carers / Coaches / Others) so as to help speed up the overall transfer time. The easier the process is by the time we come to the start of racing on the 23rd, the more chance we have to reduce the overall transition time between the flights when they come in from their action out on the racecourse. If your team does not have personnel to assist sailors needing help in the transfer process, please let the pontoon team know and they will arrange help.

Worth remembering is that the standard lunch buffet is included in your hotel reservation if you booked full-board and you can ask the waiting staff to put this food into a take-out box for you if you do not wish to buy a racing packed lunch.

Dear All, Due to the fact that the work required to commission (rig) the fleet of RS Venture Connect charter boats is currently behind schedule, it has been decided that the efforts to get all of our boats ready and set up for use during the coaching clinic should be our primary objective. All boats currently in the water need to come out to have some standing rigging changes made to them and then they need to undergo a formal equipment inspection. Getting boats ready for use today will add an additional layer of work to an already pretty full-on 'to-do' list. It is the belief of the RS Venture Connect Class that the resources we have at our disposal need to be deployed in the areas where we have most need. I apologize to those of you that are chomping at the bit to get on the water. I know you are keen to get sailing...as am I.
