If a boat that has broken rule 30.3 and has also failed to comply with the definition Start, may be exonerated for the breach of 30.3 if compelled to break that rule by a boat breaking a rule of Part 2.  However, that does not prevent the boat from sailing back to the pre-start side of the starting line and starting correctly, and she will be scored DNS if she does not do so..

A harness, when used as part of a trapeze, is a device designed to position a crewmember's body outboard and using it breaks rule 49.1.  A halyard and a harness (when not used as part of a trapeze) however, are not devices designed for that purpose, and do not break rule 49.1.

Rule 33 and Race Signals do not specify how a change of course flag shall be displayed but a flag is displayed when it is clearly visible.  There are also no explicit requirements for the sound signal or the position of the signal boat.

The sailing instructions cannot change the definition of Start but may define a different score for a boat identified OCS..

A request for redress under Addendum Q must be heard even if it is improper.  Additionally, the restrictions on protests and requests for redress in Addendum Q apply to an incident which occurs before the warning signal or after the race is finished.

Rule 51 requires sails that are not being used to be properly stowed but it does not state any obligation regarding where on the boat these sails are to be stowed.

The race committee may display flag R as per rule P5 (c) at a starting mark when flag O has already been displayed before the warning signal in that starting sequence.

Any time needed to assess any damage in order to ensure it is safe for a boat to continue racing does not qualify as physical damage under rule 62.1(b).

Staggered positioning of national letters and sail numbers on the sails of an ISAF Class boat is in compliance with RRS Appendix G, as long as all other requirements are met.

Rule 63.1 does not include a time limit for requests to withdraw a request for redress and a protest committee may allow a request for redress to be withdrawn, even after a hearing has started.
